In attendance: Cindy Wade Chairman, Jennie Keller Secretary, Sue Price Treasurer, Mike Baillargeon, Rhonda Sweezy, Mike Bohannan, Margarita Sargent, Tom Berggren, Lezlie Corbin, Lisa Binns.
A membership quorum of 39 was established.
Approval of the minutes from March 25, 2017. Sue Price moved to accept the minutes as written. It was seconded by Mike Baillargeon. Motion passed unanimously.
Year-End Treasurer’s report given by Sue Price. We have a total of $44,000 and some change in the bank. A member asked about the Wells Fargo account issue and Sue shared the issue was resolved and we haven’t had any new issues since they cleared it up. We didn’t open another account and all the extra transactions were cleared.
Fire Response / Truck updates given by Mike Bohannan. APS donated another truck which will replace the old brush truck. It’s a 2006 Chevy Duramax 3500 4-wheel drive and will last us some time. Altogether we had $1,900 to put towards getting this truck up and running. Tom Berggren was able to sale the old truck for $5,500. And the crowd cheered!!! Way to go Tom! Mike Baillargeon sold the hose reel for $100 so we have a profit of $3,700. Discussed using the extra profit to replace the pump on the other brush truck. Tom Berggren moved to buy the exact same pump for the other brush truck for continuity. It was seconded by member Mike Templeton. Motion passed unanimously.
Discussed the need for maintenance on the other trucks. Sue shared there is $1,000 in the budget for maintenance. Sue also shared the executed forest agreement on the state land truck was received and we will need to renew it again in a year.
Discussed the new pump should cost around $1,500 and the funds from the truck sale will be used. Jeff Jacobs moved to put the leftover funds into the fire response maintenance fund. It was seconded by member Mike Templeton. Motion passed unanimously.
Well/ Water update given by Rhonda Sweezy. A water sample was taken 4 weeks ago and it passed with no problems. She is checking on the humidity issue in the room. Mike Baillargeon, Jeff Brown and Jerry Brown fixed the roof which should help with the humidity issue. Tom Berggren is going to shut the furnace off and open the vents. Cindy Wade disconnected the freeze alarms a few weeks ago. Gary Slone asked about getting the hose fixed since the duct tape isn’t holding up. The board will look to see if we have another or look into replacing if needed.
Event updates given by Lisa Binns. July 4th weekend we are planning an event but not sure yet which day. Lisa will get with Rhonda and get a flyer out. Fall Fest will be September 9th and Ron will be doing karaoke. Planning for a pancake breakfast on Sunday September 3rd (not too early). We are still doing research to determine if we need to get a bingo permit or not which was previously approved by the board. Discussed doing a BBQ cookoff challenge at one of the events.
New business:
Opened the floor for new business before recess to count ballots.
Mike Bohannan asked if Jennie was able to get the sheriff to come today. Jennie Keller sent the invite and he replied he would attend if he didn’t have any calls and timing permitted. What Mike wanted to bring up is what should you do if you hit an elk because someone hit one last night. It happened to be Lisa’s daughter and the elk hit them. Dave Sargent shared it’s always good to call 911 and report it even if no one is injured. Lezlie shared the forest service says if it’s not dead and you shoot it you can be charged with poaching. It’s better to call it in and get help.
Mike Baillargeon asked if anyone has heard anything official about the bear that is in the neighborhood. Doris shared he’s not tagged. Cindy shared Sharon Mason put on our CCPCPA Facebook page there is a trap set by game and fish. Please make sure your trash cans are weighted down and don’t feed the deer because it attracts the bears. If anyone hears anything official from game and fish please share it on our CCPCPA Facebook page.
No other new business.
